Benelli has officially launched the BS6 model of its middle-weight, scrambler-styled offering, the Leoncino 500. The only change it has received is in its engine which is now BS6 compliant previous to its model which was BS4 compliant. The Leoncino 500 is the third BS6 compliant Benelli to go on sale in following the Benelli Imperiale 400 BS6 and TRK 502. While all of the three BS6 compliant are yet to make it to the Nepalese market. According to the latest report, the BS6 Leoncino 500 is all set to make its debut by June 2021.

The BS6 Benelli Leoncino 500 features similar styling as the BS4 model. The BS6 Benelli Leoncino 500 is powered by a 500cc inline twin engine and peak output figures of 47.5hp at 8,000rpm and 46Nm at 6,000rpm. This unit comes mated to a six-speed gearbox as well. Braking duties are covered by both front and rear disc brakes, Benelli Leoncino 500 comes up with the anti-locking braking system as a standard unit. Suspension duties are handled by a 50mm thick USD fork and a single valve that features remote preload adjustment.

Talking about features, the Leoncino also features 17-inch cast-alloy wheels fitted with wide and sticky low-profile tires. Other features include full-LED lighting and a fully-digital instrument cluster with a unique twin-pod design.  The wheel and suspension changes have added ground clearance to suit the bike's need. The Leoncino shares its frame and swingarm with the standard Leoncino. It also continues with a round headlamp along with a rounded fuel tank which joins the narrow under seat panel to end into a sleek tail section.

The BS6 Benelli Leoncino 500 is available in a Leoncino Red color scheme and Steel Grey. The Leoncino 500 competes against the recently launched Ducati Scrambler 800 range. Benelli is expected to throw open bookings for the BS6 Leoncino 500 in Nepal by June. The price is yet to be revealed for the Nepalese market. The Italian-designed and Chinese manufactured Leoncino hopes to edge out the competition with its affordable price in the Nepalese market.
