Benelli is expected to launch the 2021 Leoncino 500 in Nepal in June. The Leoncino 500 will be the third BS6 compliant Benelli to be launched by the company, while all of the three are yet to make it to the Nepalese market. The other two of them to make it to the market are the Benelli Imperiale 400 BS6 and TRK 502 Adventure motorcycle. The street-focused Leoncino is capable of off-road trail. 2021 Benelli Leoncino 500 is expected to feature similar styling as it's the previous model. Leoncino is an Italian word that stands as little lion.
The BS6 Benelli Leoncino 500 is powered by a 500cc inline-twin engine and the peak power (47.5hp) and torque (46Nm) are expected to be the same as as it's the previous BS4 engine mated to 6-speed gear transmission. The bike is equipped with a 50mm USD fork and a monoshock at the rear. The braking duties are cover by a 320mm dual-disc setup with radial calipers at the front and a 260mm single disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS as standard. The bike is also equipped with wire-spoke wheels, more aggressive rubber, increased suspension travel and a taller handlebar.
Benelli has blended Leoncino with retro design elements which wisely includes modern niceties such as LED lighting, a digital dash as well as a stitched gripper seat supplements for comfort. In an appeal to newer riders, the height of the passenger-friendly seat is just below 31 inches. The wheel and suspension changes have added ground clearance to suit the bike's need. The Leoncino shares its frame and swingarm with the standard Leoncino. The last mechanical changes from the company are in the form of dual 320mm wave-style rotors.
Benelli is expected to throw open bookings for the BS6 Leoncino 500 in Nepal by June. We can expect the BS6 Leoncino 500 to be priced competitively, going by what Benelli has managed with the same price as a 2020 Honda Rebel 500 and the 2019 Honda CB500F. For the price of the Benelli Leoncino 500, you could also get the Harley-Davidson Street 750. The Italian-designed and Chinese manufactured Leoncino hopes to edge out the competition with its affordable price in the Nepalese market.
