Lexus has officially introduced the seven-seater version of the RX 450h named RX 450hL. The new RX 450hL can be differentiated by the extended length over the standard two-row RX and gets a floating roof design to reduce the visual bulk. The 7-seater SUV is available for bookings from this month across the company’s dealerships.

The all-new Lexus RX 450hL comes with a 3.5-litre V6 petrol-electric hybrid engine, which is BS-VI compliant. For better performance, the engine comes with dual VVT-i and advanced D-4S fuel injection system which results in better fuel efficiency and also reduces emissions. The engine is capable to generate 313HP of maximum power (combined).

On the launch of the car, the President of Lexus India, Mr PB Venugopal said – “RX 450hL is a self-charging hybrid electric vehicle that offers luxury, space, quietness, craftsmanship and elevates the senses with every moment of the journey. The improved technology, design and attractive pricing will surely make RX 450hL a desirable car for our discerning guests. We take the introduction of the new RX as our continued commitment to the Indian market and valued addition to our existing line of offerings.”

The important changes in the new RX 450hL have been made to the suspension system. The SUV now gets Active Cornering Assist (ACA) and newly-designed shock absorbers with new Friction Control Device (FCD).

Coming to the interiors of the car, it comes packed with features like a 12.3-inch infotainment system, Lexus-original remote touch interface, smartphone usage, phone holder, and connectivity to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system also offers voice control via native cloud connection and Lexus navigation.

The Lexus RX 450hL is equipped with features like three-eye L-shaped LED headlamps with daytime running lights that create the signature Lexus arrowhead-shaped illumination, 10 airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, LED turn indicators, and the trademark Lexus spindle grille. The SUV will compete with a number of rivals that include Mercedes-Benz GLE, Audi Q7, BMW X7, and the Range Rover Velar.
