Yamaha has officially launched its first neo-retro motorbike FZ-X in Nepal. It is a new neo-retro commuter motorcycle based on the Yamaha FZ platform. MAW Enterprises, the authorized distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in Nepal, has launched its first-ever neo-retro 150cc motorcycle in Nepal. The FZ-X is built as a rugged and tough commuter motorcycle for touring as well as city use, with a comfortable riding position. It will also be ideal for those looking for an affordable retro bike packed with modern and practical features.
The FZ-X shares its 149cc single-cylinder engine with its FZ siblings. It comes with an air-cooled 4-stroke 149cc SOHC, 2-valve, single-cylinder fuel-injected “BLUE CORE” engine with a maximum power output of 12.4 bhp at 7,250 rpm and 13.3 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine is paired to a five-speed gearbox. The motorcycle comes with disc brakes at both ends including single-channel ABS as standard. It is also equipped with Side Stand Engine Cut-off Switch which is a standard and mandatory feature.
The FZ-X is offered in two variants, with the top-spec variant getting Bluetooth connectivity with a dedicated Yamaha Motorcycle Connect app and the other being a standard. The FZ-X with the Yamaha Connect App offers a host of features through the Communication Control Unit which includes incoming call alerts, SMS alerts on the instrument console, parking location, battery charge indicator, mileage details, fuel consumption, and malfunction alerts, as well as service and oil change reminders.
Yamaha FZ-X comes with other attractive features including a unique looking Bi-functional LED Headlight with a Daytime LED Running Lamp (DRL), a newly designed negative LCD console with a Power Socket, and an LED Taillight, an engine guard, seat cover, tank grips, and chromed-out rearview mirrors. Other features include a USB charging port, offset fuel tank cap, and a tuck-and-roll single-piece seat with upright handlebars.
The FZ-X is available in three attractive colors, Metallic Blue, Matt Copper, and Matt Black. The Yamaha FZX price in Nepal starts at NRs. 4.26 Lakhs. The FZ-X doesn’t have a direct rival in the neo-retro category. However, it will compete against the likes of Bajaj Pulsar NS 160, TVS Apache RTR 160, and the Suzuki Gixxer.
