Tata Motors is all set to launch the Nexon EV Max in Nepal. According to the company, the Nexon EV Max will have more power than the standard Nexon EV. The Nexon EV Max will go on sale on May 11, 2022, in the international market. The Nexon EV was first launched in January 2021 and since then, it has been one of the best-selling electric cars in Nepal. Tata Motors will continue to offer the current model alongside the Nexon EV Max to give buyers more choice. Tata is also set to offer a wider range of variants in the Nexon EV line-up.

The Nexon EV Max will come with a larger battery pack and an extended driving range. Currently, this electric SUV gets a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and the upcoming model is expected to feature a larger 40 kWh unit that produces 129bhp and 245Nm of torque. The electric SUV will come with a 136hp motor, which is 9hp more than the unit that is currently available on the standard Nexon EV. The range is expected to rise from a claimed range of 312kms to over 400kms on a single charge. The EV Max will come with a more powerful 6.6kW AC charger which takes approximately 10 hours to charge the battery.

The Tata Nexon EV Max is expected to get cosmetic updates and new features including updated alloy wheels, disc brakes on all four wheels, cruise control, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), an air-purifier, ventilated seats, park mode, and auto-dimming mirrors. The SUV will also get a hill descent control button placed below the climate control knobs. It also features an electric sunroof, leather upholstery, automatic rain-sensing wiper, and auto headlamps with ambient. The electric car is also equipped with a 7-inch dashtop touchscreen infotainment system made by Harman. The navigation is based on a smartphone including the option of video playback, voice command, and other features.

Currently, the Nexon EV price in Nepal starts at NRs. 35.99 Lakhs to NRs. 39.99 Lakhs. The upcoming new Max version is expected to charge a premium of NRs 5 lakh – NRs 8 lakh over the latter. The long-range Tata Nexon Max EV is expected to be priced between NRs 40-50 lakhs. The new Nexon EV Max will sit at the top of the Nexon EV line-up in Nepal and deliveries are expected to commence sometime this month. The Nexon Max is also offered with a Royal Blue paint shade. The new electric car could also get selectable regeneration modes. It will compete against the likes of MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona Electric in the Nepalese market.
