Electric vehicles are the future, and each year we've seen automakers add more EVs to their lineup. Electric Scooters are gradually becoming very popular in the Nepalese market in recent years. Thinking in mind, Simple Energy, a Bengaluru-based young start-up has just launched its first electric scooter named Simple Energy One Electric Scooter. Simple One is offered only in one variant for now - One STD. According to the latest report, a simple energy one electric scooter will be launched in Nepal in the coming months.
The new Simple One Electric Scooter packs a 4.8 kWh removable lithium-ion battery pack which has a claimed range of 240km. The battery is coupled with an electric motor that has a peak power output of 7 kW (9.34 PS) and a whopping 72 Nm of peak torque. According to the company, it takes a claimed 2.75 hours to charge the fixed part of the battery from 0 to 80 percent, with the home charger and it will take 75 minutes to charge its portable battery. The electric scooter has four riding modes – Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic.
The Simple Energy One Electric Scooter comes with a host of features. The electric scooter includes a large 7-inch touchscreen that supports 4G and Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, call and music control, navigation, vehicle tracking, book service appointments, view ride statistics, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The scooter will be available in four different color shades - Azure Blue, Brazen Black, Grace White, and Namma Red.
Simple One e-scooter braking is handled by disc brakes aided by a combined braking system and as well as regenerative braking. The scooter comes with 12-inch wheels at both ends, with a telescopic fork and a monoshock for suspension. According to the company, the scooter is available with two tires specifications. One variant gets a 90/90-12 front and rear tire, while the other uses 100/80-12 (front) and 110/80-12 (rear). Also, it has one of the lightest kerb weights of 110 kgs and a massive boot space of 30 liters.
The Simple electric scooter has a very youthful and aggressive design. The price of the new Simple Energy One Electric Scooter starts at Rs 1.09 lakhs in India but the price for the Nepalese market is yet to be revealed. Once launched in Nepal, it will rival the likes of the Ola Electric Scooter, TVS iQube, NIU Scooters, Ather 450X, and Bajaj Chetak.
