The greatest iconic British brand is now reborn under Indian ownership. The iconic British manufacturer has risen from nowhere with a brand-new BSA Gold Star 650 set to arrive in the Nepalese market by March 2022. It's essentially a modern take on the iconic BSA Gold Star from the '60s. The mid-sized retro roadster has been developed in the UK and the brand is now owned by The Mahindra Group. It is all set to come with the old-school design elements but with more modern underpinnings and a newly developed 650cc engine.

BSA Gold Star is powered by a 652cc single-cylinder, 4-valve DOHC liquid-cooled engine that generates 45 hp peak power at 6,000 rpm and 55 Nm peak torque at 4,000 rpm. Gold Star comes with a single disc at both ends including Brembo calipers and Continental dual-channel ABS. Suspension is covered by a 41mm telescopic fork in the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The bike has a fuel tank capacity of 12 liters and a kerb weight of 213kg. The wheels on the Gold Star are 18 inches up front and 17 inches at the rear.

The Gold Star also features a twin-pod analog speedometer, tachometer with LCD multi-functional displays, halogen bulb headlight, and a tail-light with an LED unit. The bike also features a slipper clutch and a handlebar-mounted USB charger. It is also equipped with a wide set of handlebars, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank along with wide fenders, spoked wheels fitted with Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp tires, and a single-seat setup. The Gold Star also features dual-channel ABS.

Once launched in Nepal, the new BSA motorcycle is expected to be priced higher than the Enfield 650s. It will rival the likes of Royal Enfield 650 Twins, Kawasaki W800, and Triumph Street Twin. However, Kawasaki W800 and Triumph Street Twin are yet to be launched in the Nepalese market. The new Gold Star will be positioned in a similar segment as the Royal Enfield 650 Twins.
