Kawasaki has officially revealed the BS6-compliant 2021 model of the much-awaited Ninja 300 sports bike. After releasing a couple of teaser images on its social media channels, Kawasaki is also set to launch BS6 Ninja 300 in the Nepalese market in the coming months with a new showroom setup. The Ninja 300 launch was delayed by two months earlier in 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. However, Kawasaki has not updated the 300cc bike in terms of looks and design.
The Kawasaki Ninja 300 comes with the same to its previous model 296 cc parallel-twin cylinder, 8 Valve, DOHC engine tuned for 38 bhp at 11,000 rpm and 27 Nm of peak torque at 10,000 rpm. The motor is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The BS6 Ninja 300 also comes with an assist and slipper clutch that makes for lighter clutch action and faster gear changes. Suspension duties are equipped with 37 mm telescopic forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear.
Braking duties are covered by 290 mm petal disc brakes upfront with dual-piston calipers, while the rear gets a 220 mm petal disc brake with Dual-channel ABS as a standard unit. We expect the 2021 Kawasaki Ninja 300 to get some new color options as well and an all-LED headlight. The BS6 model continues to feature a twin-pod headlight, fairing integrated front blinkers, a muscular fuel tank, split-style seats, and chrome heatshield on the exhaust.
The prices for the BS6 version are yet to be announced. We expect the updated version to carry a marginal price premium over NRs. 10 lakhs. The BS6 Kawasaki Ninja 300 would be competing with the likes of the 2021 Yamaha YZF-R3 and the Benelli 302R, which are also expected to launch in the Nepalese market later this year. Once launched in Nepal, the Ninja 300 will be Kawasaki’s most affordable motorcycle.
