Italian two-wheeler brand Piaggio has announced that it has commenced accepting pre-bookings for its upcoming scooter, the Aprilia SXR 160, in Nepal. The Aprilia SXR 160 is likely to launch by the first half of February in Nepal. Featuring Aprilia’s modern global design tenet, Aprilia SXR 160 is powered by a BS6 compliant 160 cc engine. Oh, and before we forget the new Aprilia scooter has been designed in Italy, especially for Nepal and other markets. However, its launch has been delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. It is a great feeling for Nepalese market as the Aprilia SXR 160 has started to roll out.

The SXR 160 is powered by 160.03cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 10.84 bhp and a torque of 11.6 Nm. The upcoming Aprilia SXR 160 is loaded with hosts of features such as an all-LED lighting system, LCD instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity, a tall windscreen, digital instrument console, a plush seat, and a stretched-out floorboard. In terms of underpinnings, the scooter uses a telescopic fork, monoshock and disc brake at both ends coupled with single-channel ABS. The scooter rides on what appears to be 12-inch alloy wheels on both ends.

The Aprilia SXR 160 will be available in four colours including gloss red, matte blue, gloss white and matte black. It gets a generously sized seat and presumably, a large underseat storage too. Think Italian automobiles and three things pop up - style, sportiness and a price tag to match. Once launched, it will be a more premium, more powerful alternative to the Suzuki Burgman BS6 maxi-style scooter. Aprilia SXR 160's price in Nepal is expected to be NRs. 4,09,900

Interested buyers can book it by paying a token amount of Rs 5,000 by visiting the Piaggio dealership. Deliveries are expected to start in the couple of weeks. The bike will be made available in Kathmandu, Gorkha, Aanbu Khaireni and other major city around the country.
