General Motors’ minicar joint venture in China, SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW), has officially launched a fully electric car Air EV in Nepal. EV Nepal Motors, the authorized distributor of Wuling vehicles in Nepal has officially made debuts in the Nepalese market with the introduction of Wuling Air EV. The Air EV is the company’s first electric vehicle launched outside China that is built on Global Small Electric Vehicle. It is available in two variants: Standard Range and Long Range. It is a four-seater and two-door hatchback that is perfect for city driving. 

Wuling Air EV is powered by a 30-kW PMSM electric Motor that can generate a max power of 41PS and a max torque of 110Nm.  The Standard Range is equipped with a 17.3 kWh Lithium-Ferro-Phosphate battery delivering a driving range of 200 km. It can be fully charged in 8.5 hours with a 2.0kW AC charger. The Long Range is also equipped with a 26.7kWh Lithium-Ferro-Phosphate battery delivering a driving range of 300 km. It can be fully charged in 4 hours with a 6.6kW AC charger. The suspension duties are covered by McPherson and 3-Link Coil Spring.

The Air EV comes with a Dual-Projector headlamp setup on each side, an LED strip as the DLR, a Dual-Setup taillamp, a horizontal chrome bar, a digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system, AC, a heater, a steering wheel with control buttons, and split rear seats. The Wuling logo also functions as a DLR. It features an advanced Easy Home Charging System with a charging port integrated at the front apron. It also gets 12-inch steel wheels with an attractive full cap. The Long Range variants include more premium features compared to the Standard variant.

The Wuling Air EV price in Nepal starts at NRs. 24.99 lakhs. The EV is offered in five colour options including blue, green, pink, white, and yellow while the roof is blacked out for a dual-tone finish. Wuling Nepal provides an 8-Year (or 120000Km) Warranty on the Battery. It will compete against the likes of Picanto, Ignis, Rio, and Brio.
