The Austrian brand KTM Motorcycles has recently unveiled its 790cc motorbike in the Nepalese market. Hansraj and Hulaschand Pvt.Ltd, the authorized dealer of KTM motorcycles has distributed the bikes all over the KTM showrooms in the country. The bookings for KTM DUKE 790 were kicked off from August 8 2021 in Nepal. Although KTM DUKE 790 was released in the Indian market last year in April, it was delayed in Nepal due to the pandemic. The brand KTM, popular among youths for its fast and powerful bikes once more produced an agile and fast machine by attaining the expectations of the bike enthusiasts.
The KTM 790 Duke comprises a 799cc engine alongside twin cylinders. The naked sportbike generates max power of 104.6PS at 9000 rpm as well as max torque of 87 Nm at 8000 rpm. The six-speed gearbox transmitted on the bike provides the top speed of 225 Km/h as per the company claims. The latest technology of cornering ABS is involved with a fully digital speedometer. The distinct features of KTM bikes are their various riding modes. The motorcycle gets four different rider modes, including Rain, Street, Sport, and Track. These alter the engine’s throttle response, ABS support, traction control, and wheelie control. These features provide the rider several options for a better riding experience. Here, the rain mode is the safest as it tones down the power for a smoother throttle response whereas the track mode is only advised for race tracks as it activates the throttle sensitivity.
Concerning the seating accommodation, while Juxtaposing with other KTM bikes the seats are uncomfortable which might not be preferable for the long rides. KTM DUKE 790 is nicknamed ‘The Scalpel’ for its sharp, edgy, and aggressive looks as it is a complete naked sports bike. Being a 790cc, its kerb weight is only 169 kg which is surprisingly perfect, making the bike more agile and more comfortable while riding on busy roads or the streets. The brakes fitted on the bike are abundantly safer than other higher CC bikes as it comprises cornering ABS making this powerful bike controllable efficiently accompanied with four riding modes.
In general, KTM DUKE 790 is one of the best bikes in the higher CC segment. The looks of the bike are aggressive and sharp, identical to that of its prototype i.e. KTM DUKE 1290. The muscular fuel tank has a capacity of 14 Litres with a mileage of 22.72 KMPL. The four riding modes provide the rider with numerous options and a whole new futuristic experience. In comparison with other higher CC bikes and its rival Yamaha MT 09 and Ducati monster 821, this 790 CC has a reasonable price in comparison with the features present in the bike. The price tag of KTM DUKE 790 in the Nepalese market is allocated at Rs 23,99,000.
The 790 Duke is equipped with a full LED headlight, a full-color TFT instrument panel, lean-sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, multiple power modes, launch control, and wheelie control. KTM offers the 790 Duke in Nepal with two liveries of orange and black. The KTM 790 Duke locks horns with another street naked like the Triumph Street Triple RS, Suzuki GSX-S750, Yamaha MT-09, and the Ducati Monster which all are yet to be launched in Nepal.
