Horwin CR6 Pro Electric Bike To Be Launched

With an increasing number of companies entering the EV space every day, a lot is riding on them to come up with something new and different to stand out in the market. Austrian bike maker, Horwin is trying to do the same by unveiling two electric motorcycles, the CR6 and the CR6 Pro, which are all set to be launched in upcoming months. The bike maker has already announced the specs and price of the motorcycles. These aren’t exactly what we can call ‘affordable electric motorcycles,’ considering that these cost north of €5,890 (over Rs 5 lakh).

While the base variant is powered by a 7.2kW motor, the top-spec model is powered by an 11kW motor and comes paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Horwin isn’t the only one to plonk a transmission to an electric motorcycle; Tacita already has the T-Cruise in its portfolio, which is offered in two options: a 2-speed gearbox and a 5-speed gearbox. Although the CR6 gets a smaller motor, it has the same 0-60kmph time of 6 seconds as the CR6 Pro. However, the lower-spec variant has a top speed of 95kmph, whereas the top-end model can go up to 105kmph.

The lower top speed on the CR6 helps it to extract more range out of the 4kWh non-removable lithium ion battery pack. Horwin claims the CR6 has a maximum range of 150km and the CR6 Pro can go up to 130km. The manufacturer claims it takes just 3 hours to juice up the battery to 80 per cent. Suspension hardware consists of USD fork and a monoshock. Stopping power comes from a 240mm disc at the front and a 180mm disc at the rear, with CBS offered as an extra safety net. So, are you ready to write a check of around Rs 5 lakh for an electric motorcycle, which has a top speed of just 105.

Here are some quick facts about Horwin CR6 Electric Bike:

1. While the CR6 is powered by a 7kW motor, the top-spec CR6 Pro gets a 11kW motor.

2. Both the motorcycles are equipped with USD forks.

3. Horwin claims the CR6 has a range of 150km!
