Hero has just launched the Glamour Blaze, a special edition version of the standard bike. The Blaze sits between the drum brake-equipped Glamour and the disc brake-equipped version. Most special edition variants are usually priced higher than the models they are based on. Unique to the Blaze is a new colour scheme called ‘Matte Vernier Grey’ and USB charging point that’s installed on the handlebar. The new edition gets cosmetic and feature updates with no changes to the BS6 powertrain or underpinnings. It is one of many new Hero two-wheelers to arrive before the Diwali festive season according to Malo Le Masson, Head of Strategy, Hero MotoCorp. The bikemaker has already launched a new Maestro Edge 125 Stealth edition.
The 125 cc engine inside the Glamour Blaze comes with XSens Programmed Fuel Injection and offers 10.7 bhp@7500 RPM and has torque of 10.6 Nm@6000 RPM. It also gets an idle start-stop system - called i3S by Hero and features Auto Sail Technology. The Glamour Blaze gets a new coat of paint called new Matt Vernier Grey with fluorescent stickers. Besides the new colour the motorcycle gets a handlebar-mounted USB smartphone charger which Hero claims is a first for the segment. Besides the new updates, the Blaze edition continues to use features like a semi digital instrument console, i3S start stop and auto sail tech. Underpinnings are the same diamond frame with telescopic forks and dual shock absorbers. It gets a front disc brake and rear drum brake with CBS.
The 5-speed BS6 Glamour 125 is a direct rival to the only two 5-speed 125cc motorcycles in Nepal– the Honda SP 125 and the Bajaj Pulsar 125.
