The Aprilia SXR 160 has been officially launched across certain Asian markets including India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. While in Nepal, the Aprilia SXR 160 is likely to launch by the second half of 2021. Aprilia SXR 160 is a cross max design or a hybrid of sorts of a Scooter amalgamation between the sportiness of a maxi-scooter and the practicality of a regular scooter. Designed in Italy, the Aprilia SXR 160 is the epitome of great style, high performance, and great comfort. Once launched in Nepal, we believe that this scooter will set high standards in the Nepalese premium two-wheeler market.
Powering the SXR 160 is the 160.03cc including the three-valve, fuel-injected engine. The SXR’s engine has the same bore and stroke (58 x 60.6) as the previous SR's. Just like the SR, the SXR 160 makes 11hp at 7,600rpm and 11.6Nm at 6,000rpm. Braking is via a front disc with single-channel ABS and a rear drum. SXR 160 is handled by a 220mm disc up front and a 140mm drum at the rear. The scooter rides on what appears to be 12-inch alloy wheels on both ends. The SXR 160, with the intentions of the Maxi scooter, has a 7-liter fuel tank.
The upcoming Aprilia SXR 160 is loaded with host of features such as an all-LED lighting system as well as it gets a more comprehensive full-LCD instrument cluster. It gets a generously sized seat and presumably, a large underseat storage too. Once launched in Nepal, it will be a more premium and powerful alternative to the Suzuki Burgman BS6 Maxi scooter which is also yet to be launched here in Nepal. The scooter is offered in four colour options - Red, Blue, Black and White. Aside from the quality of the looks, there aren’t really many complaints, but the pricing is a concern for the Nepalese market.
