Honda motorcycle and scooter have shared a new teaser about the upcoming adventure motorbike in Nepal. Earlier this year, Honda registered the name ‘NX200‘. Now taking a look at the teaser video shared by Honda, it does look like the adventure motorbike named Honda NX200. Being said that, NX200 will be a premium offering and is all set to take place in the Nepalese market by the end of 2021. According to various reports, Honda’s most affordable ADV will b based on the Hornet 2.0.
In terms of design, the upcoming Honda NX200 would be quite similar to its elder sibling – the CB500X. As the bike will be based on the Hornet 2.0, we can expect the NX200 to get the same chassis and engine. The NX200 will also be powered by the same 184cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that generates 17 hp of power and 16 Nm of torque similar to the Hornet 2.0. The engine is also likely to be paired with the same 5-speed transmission as the Hornet. We can expect more technical specifications of NX200 in the coming days.
The Honda NX200 will feature a large half-fairing with tank extensions and a windshield for better wind protection. The bike is also likely to get USD forks upfront with more travel, knobby tires, and also, an all-digital instrument cluster. Also, unlike the single-channel ABS in Hornet, the NX200 might get a dual-channel unit. Its LED headlamp is similar to the Hornet 2.0. The bike gets an inverted front fork and a rear monoshock and the brakes and 17-inch wheels could be carried from the Hornet 2.0.
The bike is also set to get RoadSync tech for smartphone connectivity and navigation support via Bluetooth headphones. The Honda NX200 is expected to be launched at NRs 4.00 lakhs in the Nepalese market. Once launched in Nepal, the NX200 will compete with the likes of Hero XPulse 200, Royal Enfield Himalayan, and also, the KTM 250 Adventure.
