The Japanese manufacturer’s Honda has recently launched the Honda U-Go electric scooter. The company announced two versions of the U-GO with different speeds and power levels. The new entry-level two-wheeler comes with a minimalist design and has a pack of removable batteries with a claimed range of up to 65km per charge. According to the company, the electric scooter Honda U-Go will make its debut in the Nepalese market in the coming months.

The Honda U-Go comes with a 48V 30Ah Lithium-ion removable battery pack which is paired with a 1.2kW hub motor on the regular model. It also includes an 800W motor on the low-speed variant. According to the company, the regular variant has a top speed of 53km/h and a maximum range of 65km, which can be doubled to 130km by using two battery packs. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.

The Honda U-Go comes with very simple and sleek features. It features a headlight-mounted apron, a flat seat, a pillion grab rail, a utility box, as well as a USB charging port. It also comes with an LCD instrument cluster, an all-LED system for lighting. It gets a very accessible seat height of 740mm, a 350mm long footboard, and a 26-liter under-seat storage compartment. The scooter rides on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheels. It also gets an LCD instrument console that provides basic information like speed, range, battery status, and riding mode.

Honda U-Go electric scooter is now available in the Chinese market which is priced at CNY 7,999, which is around NRs 1.46 lakhs. There’s also a low-speed variant (with its top speed restricted to 43kmph) available at CNY 7,499 (about NRs 1.37 lakhs). Despite the low price, the scooter still looks like a decent urban option. We just hope the Nepal-bound one gets a higher top speed and better range.
