The highly anticipated NIU RQi Electric Bike is set to make its debut in Nepal at the NADA Auto Show 2024. Eco Infinity, the official distributor of NIU electric bikes and scooters in Nepal, is preparing to introduce the all-new NIU RQi electric bike. NIU Nepal has officially confirmed the upcoming launch of the NIU RQi through an announcement on its Facebook page. The RQi Electric Bike is no exception, combining cutting-edge innovation with sleek design to deliver an unparalleled riding experience.
The NIU RQi is powered by a high-performance electric motor that delivers rapid acceleration and smooth handling. Powered by an in-house 7500W NIU electric motor, the RQi boasts an impressive 93% power efficiency, delivering a peak torque of 450 Nm. It is equipped with a 72V36AH dual Lithium Ion battery providing a total output of 5.184 kWh. It takes 4 hours to fully charge a single battery and 7 hours for a dual battery setup, providing a range of 95-105 km on a single charge.
The NIU RQi boasts a modern, minimalist design that captures the essence of futuristic mobility. In terms of features, it includes circular LED headlamps, slim LED indicators, dual ultra-long life batteries, front and rear cameras with collision detection and automatic recording, keyless unlock with one-touch start, an anti-theft system with GPS location, an integrated smart hub, and NIU app connectivity. For safety, it features a dual-disc braking system with combined braking for both the front and rear, along with dual-channel ABS and TCS.
The overall dimensions of the RQi are 2080mm in length, 835mm in width, and 1108mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1455mm. Notably, it has a ground clearance of 167mm, which is relatively low for a motorbike, and a kerb weight of 135 kg. The NIU RQi accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. The RQi is equipped with alloy wheels and comes with a 110/70-R17 tyre at the front and a 140/70-R17 tyre at the rear. The RQi is equipped with twin forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear for its suspension system.
The NIU RQi price in Nepal is expected to be around NRs. 9.99 Lakhs. Although the launch has been officially confirmed, details such as the launch date, available colours, and warranty information have not yet been revealed. The NIU Battery Management System (BMS) uses four sensor arrays to monitor temperature, voltage, current, and insulation, detecting 56 potential faults for added security.
