Husqvarna has officially revealed the Svartpilen 125 for European market. The bike is based on the KTM 125 Duke and is positioned as an entry-level bike. The bike is expected to make its way to Nepal by next month. As far as we know, the Svartpilen 125 is now the smallest offering in the Husqvarna range. In the coming days, Husqvarna will expand its portfolio in Nepal and we can also expect Svartpilen 125 and Vitpilen 125 in the Nepalese market.
From a design point of view, the bike looks almost identical to the Svartpilen 250. Powering the Husqvarna is the same 125cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 14.5hp and 12Nm of torque and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. Suspension duties include WP 43mm upside-down forks at the front and a WP monoshock at the rear whereas braking is done by ByBre callipers at both ends and and dual-channel ABS as a standard unit.
As far as styling is concerned, apart from the full-LED lighting for the headlamp, tail lamp and turn indicators it also gets a round, LCD dash. Husqvarna Svartpilen 125 is also well-equipped with premium components such as steel trellis frame and Pirelli Scorpion STR tyres. It also features a fully digital console, a tank rack, and a 9.5-litre fuel tank. The little Svartpilen 125 scales at 146kg, which is quite hefty for a 125cc motorcycle.
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 125 is expected to be launched in Nepal in coming days.Once launched in Nepal, the Svartpilen 125 will compete against the KTM 125 Duke, Yamaha MT-15, Bajaj Pulsar NS200, and the Ather 450X. And going by the pricing the Husqvarna 125s are likely be priced slightly lower than the KTM 125 Duke. According to the company, the Husqvarna 125 might gain quick popularity amongst the youths in Nepal.
