Hyundai has just revealed the new Creta EV, ahead of its big reveal at the India Mobility Expo on January 17. This electric version of the popular Creta SUV is creating a lot of buzz, and it’s easy to see why. While we don’t know the exact price or launch date for Nepal yet, the Creta EV could be a game-changer, especially with the country's clean hydropower energy.

Battery Options and Range

The Creta EV comes with two battery sizes:

  • A 42 kWh battery, offering a range of 390 km.
  • A 51.4 kWh battery, giving you a longer range of 473 km.

The long-range version can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds, making it quick and efficient for both city driving and longer trips.

Charging: Fast and Easy

Charging the Creta EV is pretty simple and fast:

  • With a fast charger, you can go from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes.
  • Using an 11 kW Wall Box Charger, you can fully charge the car from 10% to 100% in about 4 hours.

Plus, it has a Vehicle to Load (V2L) feature, so you can even use the car to power other devices when needed.

Different Variants and Cool Features

The Creta EV will come in four variants: Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence. Some features you’ll find include:

  • Shift-by-Wire System for easy driving.
  • Digital Key, which lets you lock, unlock, and start the car using your phone or smartwatch.

These features make the Creta EV a great option for different needs and preferences.

Design and Looks

The Creta EV looks similar to the regular Creta, but with some tweaks for a more modern, electric feel:

  • Exterior: It has stacked headlamps, L-shaped LED DRLs, and LED light bars for a sleek look.
  • Wheels: It rides on 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels designed to reduce drag.
  • Colors: You’ll have 10 color options, including 3 matte finishes, to choose from.

Why the Creta EV Makes Sense for Nepal

Nepal’s hydropower resources make this EV a natural fit. With most of the country’s electricity coming from hydropower, driving an electric vehicle like the Creta EV could be more affordable and sustainable. It’s also a great match for the kind of roads and terrain found in Nepal, making it an attractive option for local buyers.

Looking Ahead

The Hyundai Creta EV is set to take the electric SUV market by storm. With fast charging, impressive range, and the backing of clean energy, it could change the way we think about driving in Nepal. While we wait for the official launch, there’s no doubt the Creta EV is a car to watch out for in the future.
