Ford Motor Company has officially launched the new-gen version of its popular pickup truck, Ranger in Nepal. G.O Automobiles Pvt. Ltd, the official distributor of Ford vehicles in Nepal has confirmed the arrival of the 2022 Ford Ranger pickup truck in Nepal. The 2022 Ford Ranger is available in two diesel engine options 2.0-litre single-turbo and bi-turbo and three variants including XL, XLT, and Wildtrak. The Ranger is one of Ford’s bestselling pickups in Nepal and comes with a new powertrain, a bold new exterior design, and a completely revamped cabin.
The new 2022 Ranger comes with a choice of two diesel engine options: Single-Turbo and Bi-Turbo 2.0-liter in-line four-cylinder diesel. The two variants of the new pickup XL, and XLT comes with a Single-Turbo diesel engine that develops a maximum power of 170PS and 405 Nm torque and 210PS power and 500 Nm torque respectively and Wildtrak variants get a Bi-Turbo 2.0-litre in-line four-cylinder engine that generates a 210hp power and 498Nm torque. The XL variant is mated to the 6-speed automatic transmission while the XLT and Wildtrak variant is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The 2022 Ranger comes with a fresh design. The front face now looks bold with the larger radiator grille, C-shaped LED DRLs, and a masculine-looking front bumper. It also gets a silver skid plate, black theme fog lamps, and matrix LED headlights. The Ranger dashboard is new, and so is the touchscreen infotainment unit with Ford’s signature SYNC 4 connectivity, which now measures 12 inches. The instrument cluster of Ranger is an all-digital unit. The truck also gets modern offerings like a wireless phone charger, 360-degree camera, and USB-C ports. The cabin has an exterior lighting system that can be operated with the FordPass smartphone app.
The 2022 Ford Ranger is now equipped with four on-road and two off-road modes: Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul and Slippery, Mud/Ruts, and Sand. The mode options like the off-road can now only be accessed by the touchscreen while the other options like dual-zone climate control, 4×4 control for auto, audio, and 2-wheel drive still get physical dials and buttons. These modes also adjust gearshift, throttle response, traction, and stability controls to ABS and many more. Also, the 2022 Ford Ranger is wider by 50 mm.
The 2022 Ford Ranger price in Nepal starts at NRs 1,05,90,000 for XL variant, NRs 1,19,90,000 for XLT variant and NRs 1,45,90,000 for Wildtrak variant. With all the upgrades and advancements, the new 2022 Ford Ranger is slightly priced higher than all its predecessors.
