Benelli recently became involved in the 180cc segment with the launch of Benelli 180s in the market as this 180cc naked sport was unveiled in the Nepalese market freshly. This bike could be a great hit in the Nepalese market as Benelli’s 150cc segment was also a success for this Italian company. Benelli always comes up with the best-naked sports bike and it's worth the wait.
Concerning the looks, it is identical to the KTM naked sportbike i.e. KTM Duke. This bike comprises LED headlights and has a muscular fuel tank which reflects the sporty looks of the bikes. In terms of mechanics, Benelli 180s comprises a single cylinder, 4 valve liquid-cooled engine of 175.3cc. This engine produces 18bhp of power at 9500 rpm and 14nm torque at 7000 rpm.
The Benelli 3-Spark Plug System engine design offers superior combustion efficiency, allowing for performance, rideability, and acoustics beyond the capability of lesser naked sports motorcycles. For braking purposes, it has disc brakes in both front and rear while the ABS comes as a standard braking system. The ground clearance is 170mm including alloy wheels and 1350mm wheelbase.
In terms of suspension, the Benelli 180S comes with Six-spoke cast aluminum alloy wheels shod with grippe rubber front and rear. Powerful, progressive stops courtesy of 260mm twin-piston caliper disc brake. The bike is also equipped with features such as a full-digital instrument console, LED lights, USB charger, and USD forks accompanied by a 6-speed gearbox. Although the fuel tank looks muscular the capacity is only 10 liters and the mileage is 40-42KMPL. Intuitively designed and eminently readable digital instrumentation delivers its riders vital information efficiently making them highly effective and much more reliable.
Muscular in appearance the 180S maintains a distinctly Italian sense of balance and beauty in its trademark lines. As it is a naked sports bike this bike may not be highly preferable for long rides due to its comfort and seating accommodation although for short rides it is suitable yet in the naked sports segment it has a fine and proper shock in comparison with other naked sports. Being a 180cc bike it comes at the same price as Yamaha MT-15 and Duke 125 which are smaller in terms of engine. This bike might be a success in Nepal due to its affordable and reasonable price range of NRs 4,30,000 (Red, White) and NRs 4,40,000 (Green).
