Honda is one of the most popular two-wheeler brands in Nepal and now the Japanese brand plans to expand sales and offerings in the 350cc space. The company has been actively working on the development of new 350cc models for the Nepalese market and now the manufacturer intends to unveil as many as new 350cc motorcycles in the coming years. The company wants to continue to compete with the two-wheeler segment giant Royal Enfield. According to the company, the number of motorcycles in this segment is likely to increase year by year.

Currently, the Japanese manufacturer sells two 350cc bikes, the CB350 RS and the H'ness CB350 in Nepal. Moreover, the number of bikes in the 500cc class is also expected to grow every year with the CB500X in Nepal expected to be launched this year. Back in 2020, Honda launched the H’ness CB350 in Nepal which came very close to dethroning Royal Enfield Classic 350. We also believe Honda’s next motorcycle might be a 350cc cruiser to take on the Meteor 350 which will be based on the Honda CB350 platform and likely to feature the same 350cc single-cylinder as seen on both the H’ness and the CB350.

Royal Enfield has remained unmatched in Nepal because of its niche market positioning. Now Honda wants to go all guns blazing on Royal Enfield by introducing the mid CC segment (350cc-500cc) motorcycles into the Nepalese market year by year. We also expect the new mid CC segment bikes to feature a windscreen, more relaxed ergonomics, and design tweaks to help them fit into the ‘cruiser’ category those as Royal Enfield. Honda is also planning to specialize in retro-styled bikes likes Jawa which has no direct competitors in Nepal.

If Honda wants to make a big difference in the 350cc-500cc categories, it needs to launch great products at competitive price range. Royal Enfield has the largest fan base in 350cc-500 cc bike market in Nepal and it will not be easy competing with them offering same kind of product that is already in the market. Caputring and competing against these exotic 2 wheeler brands like Royal Enfield interms of quality and price can surely help Honda capture decent amount of market share. If Honda can offer quality Motorcycles in good price, it is likely to perform well in 2 wheel market.
